Why choose a split keyboard?

The curved, split key layout allows the left hand and right hand to work more in line with the forearms. This reduces the need to bend the wrists towards the little fingers. Research by Marklin and colleagues (1999) shows that a fixed split layout can also reduce this sideways bending. The GM909 has a fixed angle; the integrated support provides a resting surface for the palms during brief typing breaks.
