Why a laptop stand?
On a laptop, the screen and keyboard are attached to each other. When the keyboard is at a suitable working height, the screen is often too low and the head bends forwards. The neck and shoulder muscles then have to hold the head in that position for a prolonged period. A laptop stand raises the screen. Combined with a separate keyboard and mouse, it allows screen height and hand position to be adjusted independently. This reduces the need to lean forwards and may help limit neck, shoulder and upper back discomfort caused by an unfavourable working posture.
