Why a forearm support?
When the forearms are not adequately supported, the muscles around the neck and shoulders must continuously carry part of the arms' weight. A forearm support takes over some of this load and distributes pressure over a larger surface. This makes it easier for the shoulders to stay relaxed while typing and using a mouse. This may help limit neck, shoulder and arm discomfort caused by prolonged static loading. The support is particularly relevant when suitable support from the desk or armrests is lacking.
