Why a vertical mouse?
A vertical mouse keeps the hand in a more upright handshake position. This means the forearm rotates less inwards than with a traditional mouse. Biomechanical research into vertical mice has measured less forearm rotation and lower activity in certain wrist and finger extensor muscles (Quemelo & Vieira, 2013). This change in posture and muscle activity is relevant to hand, wrist and forearm complaints caused by prolonged mouse use. The shape of the mouse is not the only factor: placing it close to the keyboard reduces sideways reaching and can reduce the load on the shoulder and arm (Cook & Kothiyal, 1998).

Does this mouse fit my hand?
